French authorities have called back an Olympics-branded water bottles for children due to it containing great levels of endocrine disruptor, Bisphenol A, with just a week left for the commencement of the Paris Olympic Games.
A government website, Rappel Conso (Consumer Recall) had revealed on Friday that the reusable bottles were made by the Vilac company and it contained extreme “levels of Bisphenol A not in line with regulations:”
The bottles were traded in France from late August, 2023 until the beginning of June, 2024.
Bisphenol A had once been popularly used in making food containers but it has been banned in France since 2015.
France’s food safety agency, Anses, had labelled it an endocrine disruptor believed to be associated with health problems including breast cancer and infertility.
What They’re Saying
The authorities have said;
“The white-coloured flasks with beige, blue or red tops are branded with the Olympic rings, the Paris 2024 mascot or the Olympic flame.
People who have bought them should return them to the place of purchase.”
