JAMB Releases 2025 UTME Schedule

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the schedule for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The details were disclosed by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.

Key Dates for Registration and Exams

UTME Registration:

The sale of UTME application forms will begin on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025.

Direct Entry (DE) Registration:

Candidates applying for direct entry can purchase application documents and e-PINs from March 10, 2025, to April 7, 2025.

Mock UTME:

The Mock-UTME is scheduled for April 5, 2025.

Main UTME:

The main UTME will take place between April 25, 2025, and May 5, 2025.

JAMB Releases 2025 UTME Schedule

Application Fees and Breakdown

Candidates registering for the UTME with the mock exam will pay ₦8,200, while those opting for the UTME only will pay ₦7,200.

Detailed Fee Breakdown:
  • Application fee: ₦3,500
  • Reading text: ₦1,000
  • CBT Centre registration service charge: ₦700
  • CBT Centre UTME service charge: ₦1,500
  • CBT mock service charge: ₦1,500
  • Bank charges: ₦500
  • Mock-UTME CBT Centre charge: ₦1,500

Introduction of Mock UTME for Candidates Under 16

JAMB has introduced a special mock UTME for candidates below 16 years of age. This initiative is not for admission purposes but is designed to help younger candidates assess their capabilities and familiarize themselves with the examination process.

Eligibility for Admission

To be eligible for admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before September 30, 2025.

Special Consideration for Exceptional Candidates

The JAMB Registrar highlighted that candidates under the age of 15 may qualify for admission under exceptional circumstances. These candidates must:

  1. Score a minimum of 280 in the UTME.
  2. Exhibit outstanding performance in both their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and post-UTME.

This comprehensive schedule and new initiatives aim to ensure a seamless and inclusive process for the 2025 UTME while encouraging academic excellence among candidates.
