French footballer Kylian Mbappe has been officially given the No.10 shirt at Real Madrid as he succeeds club legend Luka Modric following the Croatian’s exit.
The French prodigy now wears one of the most iconic football numbers that have been worn by Real greats such as Mesut Ozil, Luis Figo, Clarence Seedorf, and Ferenc Puskas. Mbappe, who moved to Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain, has already set a high standard for himself, finding the net 44 times in 59 games.
The World Cup winner will now try to raise his status even more in the famous white shirt with the No.10 on his back. While his career at Monaco, Mbappe wore the No.10 shirt, he has never used it in Paris.
Therefore, he switched between No.29, No.17, No.14, and mostly No.7 during his psg years. With Mbappe now being the owner of a shirt that has been the symbol of creativity and leadership, he embarks on a new journey at the Bernabeu.
He ended last season phenomenally, netting nine goals in the last five fixtures. But was still not enoughto win the league as Real Madrid finished four points behind Barcelona.
Mbappe and Real Madrid will start the new campaign against Osasuna on August 19 as Mbappe will be looking to prove worthy of the No.10 shirt.
