Wike: Nigeria’s Problem Won’t be Solved Overnight
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, responded to planned protests against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership as being political in nature. Wike said this while speaking with News Correspondent on Tuesday at the construction site of the Karshi to Apo Road, which has spanned a period of thirteen years, insisting that patience be understood and exercised.

“The country is facing numerous challenges, and it’s unrealistic to expect miracles overnight,” Wike stated. “The current administration is working diligently to address these issues, but it will take time.

Wike pointed out the increasing dissatisfaction of Nigerians due to hunger and joblessness, but at the same time explained that nobody can blame Tinubu’s government for unemployment today. He stated that the government is determined to ensure that solutions are found and called on the people to beware of being politically impressed by politicians.

We’re yet to get to the elections within the next few months in Nigeria, and Wike offered a clear warning against protestation of the election results. “The government is keen to solve the affairs of this country, and we think with time and commitment things are bound to change,” he said.

The peaceful protests, planned to hold at different parts of the country, are aimed at directing attention to the hunger and insecurity Nigerians are being persistently ravaged with.

Though some groups have pulled out from the protest, others vowed to keep them. Wike’s comments come amidst rising tension and renewed calls for pressing movement to keep up with demanding situations in the nation.
