South Korea’s opposition parties are making moves to impeach the Acting President Han over his alleged involvement in a martial law scandal.

Han, who’s been holding it down since the president’s sudden exit, is now in hot water. The opposition has claimed he advised Yoon on imposing martial law during last year’s protests – a revelation that has sparked outrage, with critics calling it a blatant abuse of power.

The opposition isn’t just making noise, however, they’re taking action. They’ve officially made moves to impeach Han, accusing him of undermining democracy.
Right now, the streets of Seoul are filled with protests, and memes have flooded social media, with the hashtag #ImpeachHan currently trending.

Han, for his part has denied the allegations, calling them a “political witch hunt.” But with the opposition rallying support and public sentiment turning sour, his days in office might be limited.

The scandal traces back to a series of leaked documents that purportedly show Han’s involvement in discussions about martial law. These documents, if they’re proven authentic, could be the smoking gun that seals his fate. The opposition is leveraging this evidence to galvanize public support and push their impeachment agenda.

Meanwhile, the public is divided. Some view Han as a necessary stabilizing force in the uncertain political times, while others view him as a power-hungry politician eager to trample on democratic principles.

As the impeachment process unfolds, all eyes are focused on the National Assembly and what the outcome will hold. Will they vote to impeach Han, or will he manage to scale through this political turbulence?
