Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim insists his side have made strides in dealing with adversity ahead of their clash with struggling Leicester City on Sunday.

After showing resilience in their last two matches, where they salvaged a 1-1 draw at Arsenal before coming from behind to beat Real Sociedad 4-1 in the Europa League. Amorim pointed to his team’s improved mentality: “We are not losing our minds after a goal against. We know the moments of the game better and we are staying with our game plan.”

With their 34 points through 34 games placing United 14th in the Premier League table, however, they will be hoping to take three points off a Leicester side looking to avoid a sixth successive league loss. Amorim stressed the need to keep a winning mentality. Table-wise, we need to treat Leicester the same as we would Real Sociedad. “We just focus on winning and getting better.”

The Portuguese manager also expressed his satisfaction with new 18-year-old defender Ayden Heaven, who signed from Arsenal in February and made an impressive start to his Lowland League career. “He has confidence, pace and a good defensive instinct,” Amorim said. “I expect he will play more if he keeps it up.”

We’ll be looking to carry on the momentum and take a healthy number of points from King Power Stadium.
