Aisha Achimugu, the high-profile socialite and Group Managing Director of Felak Concept Group, has been thrust into a major legal crisis following explosive revelations by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency conducted a dramatic raid on her upscale Abuja residence at No. 61 Hassan Usman Kastina Street, where investigators reportedly discovered N30 million in cash, $50,000 in foreign currency, and luxury jewelry worth over N1 billion.

How EFCC Exposed the Alleged $250M 2027 Election Fund Diversion Scheme

The EFCC investigation uncovered shocking details about Achimugu’s alleged financial activities, including accusations that she misappropriated a staggering $250 million reportedly entrusted to her by an unnamed state governor for 2027 election financing. This development is coming mere weeks after the EFCC declared Achimugu wanted for suspected fraud and money laundering, marking a dramatic escalation in her legal troubles.

Already, financial investigators are currently examining a web of 136 bank accounts spread across 10 different commercial banks, registered in both Achimugu’s personal and corporate capacities. EFCC sources indicate the socialite may have operated through a network of approximately 20 different companies to allegedly facilitate questionable financial transactions. The discovery of substantial physical assets during the Abuja raid, including boxes of gold, diamond, and silver jewelry valued at N1 billion, has added tangible evidence to the corruption allegations.

Why It Matters

Achimugu’s case represents one of the most high-profile investigations currently underway by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency. The EFCC’s recent actions demonstrate an aggressive approach to tackling elite financial crimes, particularly those allegedly involving political funds. As investigators continue with unraveling the complex money trail, this case has meanwhile garnered significant public attention to the intersection of business, politics, and alleged corruption in Nigeria’s elite circles.
