IPOB sit at home order and Soludo baptism of fire

The refusal of the people of Anambra to obey the order given by the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo ending the sit at home order proclaimed by Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) to protest the continuous detention of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu did not come to me as a surprise, and also has reinforced what I always try to explain to many people. Often times good politicians become bad because the very people who they are trying to help are hell bent on destroying themselves.

You really want to serve and make a difference but the very people that you are trying to save are the ones who betray your kindness and affection. This reminds of an experience shared by an acquittance sometimes ago about his experience as a regular visitor in Bayelsa where he was told about some of the letters people wrote to the government for help. Those letters are not for scholarships or help with business or health challenges, but for frivolities like I want to change the roof on my house, I want to marry a new wife or buy new car.

They neither care about development nor growth, but just want you to share money for them and buy them beer. It was frustrating for the government of the day.

I digressed, right? Back to the subject of discussion.

Charles Chukwuma Soludo is likely going to spend his first year of office fighting insurgency. His plans for this first year may just end up going out the window. And if he loses this battle (which I pray does not happen), he may even lose the momentum for the next four years. In the end, he may just become a mediocre performer through no fault of his own.

And the interesting thing is that the state seemed relatively more peaceful under Obiano who left just weeks ago, so I wonder what has caused this sudden conflation?

Nevertheless, he is the architect of these travails by leaving what he was suppose to focus on, like governance, but instead faced the cancellation of the sit at home given by IPOB political jamboree. He has missed the mark from inception.

He must surely overcome, but he must be brave to use Wike’s strategy because all is fair in love and in war.

The summary of it all is that Nigeria is not an easy country to rule. The earlier we realise this, the better. Especially for all those sweet talking politicians. Na real work. Some leaders cry when no one is watching.
