Emmanuel Emenike on Thursday morning shared a video of himself in pains in a hospital bed.

However, the former Super Eagles striker said his heart is in pains and can not carry it again. The former West ham man did not disclose the cause of his sudden illness.

The 34-year-old post on his instagram page says, “The Lord is good, I’m in severe pains and it’s too much for me to handle. my heart can not carry it again.”

Emenike was born in Anambra and the striker was last seen playing for Westerloo in Belgium, he represented the Nigeria national team for four years between 2011-2015. He featured for the Super Eagles 37 times, and the forward banged nine goals in that process.

One highlight of Emenike’s career was that he was an integral part of the late Stephen Keshi squad that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations(AFCON) in South Africa. He was the top scorer in the tournament as his four goals was crucial to the Super Eagles win as African Champions for the third time.

During one of his interview, Emenike said, “Winning the African nations cup is the biggest achievement in my career, I didn’t have it in mind to finish as the tournament’s top scorer but now that it happened, I can’t be more happier and I will continue to cherish this moment.”

As at the time of this report, the nature of the former Fenerbahce forward’s sickness can not be ascertained, but Emenike’s instagram post has generated reactions from Nigerians including the likes of former Nigeria internationals Nwankwo Kanu and Austin Okocha praying for his quick recovery.
