The Austria Football Association has appointed Manchester United interim coach, Ralf Rangnick as their new national team head coach.
The news was confirmed by Rangnick on Friday while speaking to the press. The United interim manager said he will assume his role as the new coach of the Austria football team, but it won’t stop him from continuing his consultancy job with Manchester United.
He added that he’s still committed to making United a force to reckon with once again and will continue to be available if the new United manager, Erik Ten Hag needs his help.
According to reports, the contract between the pioneer of gen gen pressing and the higher ups at Manchester United is that the German’s consultancy role is flexible and he only just work for six days in a month and it gives him the freedom to do other jobs.
Gerhard Milletich, the President of the Austrian football association expressed his delightment about the appointment of Ralf Rangnick. He said the Austrian football board members are well excited to have acquired the services of a known name in the football world.
In the press statement released by the Austrian FA, it says: “All the board members did their research on Ralf’s work and we were convinced that he’s the ideal candidate for the job because of his vision and we believe that his philosophy will help prepare our team for the upcoming 2024 Euros qualifiers.”
The 63-year-old German gaffer said its an honour to be considered for this coaching role and i can’t wait to get started and to work with young and hungry minds in the team.
Ralf Rangnick penned a two-year contract with the Austria national team which will take its full course in the summer and also continue his consultancy role at Stratford End.
