President Bola Tinubu condemns Plateau killings in strong terms, describing the murder of 12 wedding-bound travellers in Plateau State as “barbaric” and “unacceptable.” He said freedom of movement is a non-negotiable right and ordered security forces to arrest those responsible.

According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president urged the Nigerian Police to collaborate with other intelligence agencies. Tinubu condemns Plateau killings and has called on all security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Tinubu Condemns Plateau Killings, Orders Arrests

In his words: “Freedom of movement by all citizens is non-negotiable. We will not tolerate any attempt by anyone or group to curtail that fundamental freedom through acts of extreme violence and fear.”

The tragic incident happened in Mangun District, Mangu LGA of Plateau State on Friday evening. The victims were travelling from Zaria, Kaduna State, to Quan’pan LGA in Plateau to attend a wedding when they lost their way and ran into chaos.

President Tinubu condemns Plateau killings, directing that decisive action must be taken to stop the vicious cycle of violence in the state. “The Plateau State Government must act decisively,” he said.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who visited survivors and the scene, also condemned the mob attack. He called it “senseless” and “avoidable,” especially considering the community’s ongoing struggle with terrorist invasions.

“It is deeply disheartening that the same youths who supported our security efforts turned around to take the law into their own hands,” Mutfwang said. He added, “This is utterly unacceptable, and the government will not sweep it under the carpet.”

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, whose citizens were among the victims, also expressed shock. He said, “There is no justification for anybody to attack any Nigerian citizen in any part of the country. This madness must stop. Enough is enough.”

He promised that the Kaduna State Government would leave no stone unturned until justice is served. He called for swift prosecution of all those behind the gruesome act.

Tinubu Condemns Plateau Killings, Demands Justice

President Tinubu condemns the killings by stressing that Nigerians have the right to live and move freely anywhere in the country without fear. He assured the families of the victims and the people of Kaduna and Plateau States that justice would not be delayed.

“This act will not go unpunished,” he assured, saying the attack must serve as a warning to others.

Tinubu Condemns Plateau Killings and Demands Action

This is not the first time a Nigerian leader has condemned killings. But the public is tired of statements without justice. For the people, Tinubu condemns Plateau killings must mean real arrests, trials, and convictions, not empty outrage.
