Luis Enrique and Sarina Wiegman lead the list of nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or Men’s and Women’s Team Coach of the Year awards, the event will take place in September at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
Enrique is the favorite to win the men’s award after taking Paris Saint-Germain to their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, a treble that also included Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
He is up against Barcelona’s Hansi Flick, who not only delivered a domestic treble in his debut season but also made club history by doing so.
Liverpool’s Arne Slot is also on the list after winning the Premier League in his first season, succeeding Jürgen Klopp.
Napoli boss Antonio Conte has been nominated for winning the Serie A title in last dramatic season, while Enzo Maresca’s winning double with Chelsea — the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup — completes the shortlist of five names.
On the women’s side, England’s Sarina Wiegman remains the top choice after leading the Lionesses to Euro 2025 triumph, defeating reigning world champions Spain in a penalty shootout final that was full of excitement.
She is there next to Arsenal’s Renée Slegers who guided the Gunners to a surprise Champions League title and Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor whose team is still unbeaten in their march to a domestic treble.
Brazil’s Arthur Elias who just won the Copa América and Nigeria’s Justine Madugu who took the Super Falcons to their 10th Africa Women’s Cup of Nations title make up the rest of the women’s shortlist.
The victors are going to be announced at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
