According to reports, Alejandro Garnacho has communicated to Manchester United that he is ready to not participate with the first-team for the whole 2025-26 season in the event that his transfer to Chelsea doesn’t go ahead this summer.
Ultimately, this is a 21-year-old hot-tempered winger who has had confrontations with United coach Ruben Amorim, and has already done a deal of personal terms with Chelsea after the Blues reignited their interest following a failed January bid. Fabrizio Romano states that Garnacho is dead set on not considering any other club.
On the one hand, United are willing to let the player go but on the other hand, they have turned down Chelsea’s offers of swap deals with Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, or Renato Veiga.
The Red Devils are instead insisting on a pure cash deal of about £50 million (\$67.2m), while Chelsea are proposing the opposite, with a target of around £30 million.
The Argentine’s decision might be the one to tip Chelsea’s hand in the negotiations with Manchester United who have already allowed a loan move for Marcus Rashford and are in need of money as they have spent more than £200m on new offensive players Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško
