Trump Reacts as Russia Strikes Ukraine Again, with the White House confirming on Thursday that the former president was “not happy” after learning of the overnight assault. At least 15 people were killed as Russian missiles and drones hit Ukraine, striking residential buildings and even damaging the British Council office in Kyiv.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters, “He was not happy about this news, but he was also not surprised. These are two countries that have been at war for a very long time.” She added that Trump would issue a fuller statement later in the day.

Russia’s Overnight Strikes Leave Dozens Dead and Wounded

Ukrainian officials said the Russian strikes tore through multiple sites, destroying homes and forcing hundreds into shelters. Hospitals in Kyiv reported dozens of casualties, while emergency workers searched through rubble for survivors.

The attack came just days after international warnings that Moscow was intensifying its offensive ahead of winter. For Trump, the renewed strikes once again put Ukraine back at the center of global attention and his reaction has already triggered debate about how he plans to handle the crisis going forward. The deadly assault left Ukraine counting its losses yet again, but the political ripples extended far beyond Kyiv.
