Paris Saint-Germain made history by winning 2-1 at the Olympic Stadium against Barcelona and being the first team to beat the Catalans three consecutive times in Europe on their turf. In a fierce clash, Ferran Torres put Barça ahead after a smart assist from Marcus Rashford, but Senny Mayulu scored the equaliser before the interval. Gonçalo Ramos hit the late winner for Luis Enrique’s side, thus putting an end to the 11 home games unbeaten run in the group phase of the Champions League run for Barcelona.

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal not only kept but also strengthened their perfect start in the competition as they won for the sixth time in a row in the UCL group stage where they defeated Olympiacos 2-0 without problems. After Viktor Gyökeres’ shot was saved, Gabriel Martinelli scored from the rebound to open the scoring early in the match, and the goal was fully secured in the injury time of the second half by the substitute Bukayo Saka. However, the visitors thought that Chiquinho’s goal had leveled the score, but it was disallowed due to offside.

It was a draw 2-2 in Monaco where Eric Dier’s late penalty kick saved the English side from defeat and gave the Citizens no victory on their travels again. Erling Haaland did not miss to score twice, one being a breathtaking goal in the first half, but it was not enough against Chelsea stars’ efforts – Jordan Teze’s lightning shot and Dier’s penalty kick made sure the points were divided.

In addition, Borussia Dortmund destroyed Athletic Bilbao by 4-1 goal difference and Newcastle United managed to take a good away win against Royal Union, therefore impressing. Bayer Leverkusen were only able to get a draw at home against PSV with a scoreless game, and Villarreal and Juventus ended their encounter as high as 2-2. Napoli also on the front pages when Rasmus Højlund scored twice in a 2-1 win over Sporting CP.
