Nottingham Forest failed to pick up their second win in the Premier League after a 2-2 draw against Manchester United at the City Ground thrilling fixture went their way for the ninth consecutive time. The draw means that their winless run has now been stretched to nine consecutive league matches.

One of three teams to have won all their league games in October, United, started strongly, with Benjamin Šeško missing two very good opportunities in the early minutes. Forest, who were also finding it hard to create chances, saw a negative moment in the game when Douglas Luiz went off due to a muscle injury. However, the away team scored the only goal of the game just before the break as Casemiro hammered in a header from a debated corner, and this was his fifth goal involvement in eight games against Forest.

The home crowd went wild after the break as the team turned the match around dramatically. Morgan Gibbs-White made no mistake with his header from Ryan Yates’ cross before Nicolò Savona taking advantage of bad defending made it 2-1 in less than two minutes. United skipper Bruno Fernandes hit the post as Ruben Amorim’s side looked for a response.

Forest were on the verge of a dream win when Amad Diallo’s rocket of a volley from a corner in the dying moments ensured a point for the visitors. Murillo’s vital intervention on the line stopped Amad from scoring the winning goal and as a result, United were not able to record back-to-back victories away from home, while Forest remain without a win since the first ‍‌‍‍‌weekend.
