Chelsea secured the bragging right one more time in North London, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 to make it five consecutive victories in face-to-face encounters and to climb level on points with their rivals in the Premier League table.
The first half was a bit of anti-climax, Spurs losing Lucas Bergvall to a concussion in a slow-paced game. Chelsea took over gradually, and after a few half-chances, João Pedro finally got the ball rolling in the 34th minute, scoring the easiest of tap-ins after Moisés Caicedo had beaten the Spurs defence in a wonderful solo run.

Before the break, Pedro might have had a treble of goals, but Guglielmo Vicario was not to be beaten as he kept the Red Devils alive in the game. Spurs were hardly dangerous, their only shot on target coming very late in the first-half added time through Mohammed Kudus.
The following period was more of the same — Chelsea were the ones dictating play while Spurs were lacking in ideas. Enzo Fernández and Reece James had good chances to score, and Pedro Neto fired two shots that Vicario saved. Tottenham never looked like scoring the equaliser and thus have extended their winless run at home to four matches. As for Chelsea, it is another beautiful evening in N17 as they keep on their way up the table.
