Paris Saint-Germain sensation Désiré Doué has been awarded the 2025 Golden Boy, ahead of Real Madrid’s Dean Huijsen and Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsí to take over from Lamine Yamal. The yearly award, given by Italian outlet Tuttosport, is for the best player 21 or under in the top4 leagues of Europe.
Doué’s victory is the finale of a breathtaking 2024–25 campaign, a season in which he turned PSG into Champions League winners with his double against Inter Milan in their 5–0 final win. Under Luis Enrique, the 19-year-old was only a bench player, but he grabbed the opportunity when it came in the middle of the season and he was indispensable for the club’s triumphant run in Europe.
PSG were the big winners also off the pitch as the awards went by, with and sporting director Luis Campos named Best Football Executive and club president Nasser Al Khelaifi awarded Best President.
The others winners were Leah Williamson of England who was named Golden Player Woman, and Michelle Agyemang who took the Golden Girl award after playing a key part in England’s Euro 2025 victory.
Doué is the latest in a long line of highly talented players to have won the Golden Boy award, which also counts Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and Lamine Yamal who lifted the trophy last year
