Kylian Mbappé is on his way to the hall of fame as he made it 400 career goals after he scored twice in France’s 4-0 win over Ukraine to seal the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification, the youngest player of the 21st century to reach 400 career goals.
Besides completing his brace, the second goal of the 26-year-old also signaled a landmark which only Pelé did at an even younger age. The Brazilian icon is the only one to have reached 400 goals earlier than Mbappé as he managed it at the age of just 23.
This feat of the French international is in line with an outstanding season start of the 2025-26 campaign where he is already 20 games into his club and international commitments and has 23 goals to his name. Saving 400 goals for Mbappé, 27 come from Monaco, an incredible 256 from Paris Saint-Germain, 62 from Real Madrid, and 55 from France.
Even with his remarkable achievement, Mbappé seem to not be impressed by his accomplishment, stating that there are still many things he has to do. “Nobody gets impressed by 400 goals,” he said. “I want to be remembered in football history, so I would need 400 more goals.” He used living legends like Cristiano Ronaldo who have scored more than 900 goals and Lionel Messi who is also closing on the 900 goaLs landmark too as the standard he wants to surpass.
In fact, he did it quicker than both legends which makes him one of the greatest of all time in the not-so-distant future.
