Manchester United may have to do without Patrick Dorgu for as long as 10 weeks after scans revealed a serious hamstring injury, which is a huge break for Michael Carrick’s plans at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old player had kept up his great performance by netting for the second game running in Sunday’s thrilling 3–2 victory against the Premier League leaders Arsenal. Nevertheless, Dorgu came out just before Matheus Cunha’s winning goal, with Carrick initially believing it was nothing more than cramp.
Those fears have been confirmed. As per The Athletic, Dorgu has a hamstring injury, which can put him out of the field till early April, although he is still being examined. If the reports are true, the Danish player might miss up to eight Premier League matches and therefore will miss Denmark’s 2026 World Cup qualification play-off games in March.

The team would deeply feel the loss of Dorg,u who had just recently come out to be an essential attacking option. Since United’s change to a 4-2-3-1 formation, he has been very successful on the left wing playing in a more advanced role, scoring or assisting at each of his last three league games, including terrific goals against Manchester City and Arsenal.
Carrick applauded Dorgu’s contribution after the Arsenal victory, pointing out his physical ability, threat on the ball, and good understanding with Luke Shaw. Without a like-for-like substitute who could provide the same level of natural width, United are now confronted with a tactical problem as they are aiming at a top-four finish.
