The January transfer window is nearing its end, and European clubs are getting more and more frantic to finalize their deals. At the same time, rumours and unexpected developments continue to be the theme of the market.

Spurs have been identified as the latest team that will be trying to sign Crystal Palace’s striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, thus complicating the drama that already surrounds the French player. The North Londoners are reportedly trying to figure out their attacking game before the transfer deadline.

Aston Villa looked another way with Tammy Abraham’s signing from Besiktas. They have nailed down the deal with the forward for a reported €21million plus add-ons. The England striker was a vital player during Villa’s promotion-winning season in the 2018/19 season, and now he comes to the club filled with Premier League experience.

Manchester United is still interested in the market. According to some sources, they are making moves to get Rennes winger Mohamed Kader Meite. The 19-year-old Frenchman, whose price tag is approximately €30 million, has also caught the eye of Saudi club Al Hilal. The initial spot of the player by a United scout came as a by-product of their main focus on Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Bournemouth has officially announced the acquisition of 16-year-old Brazilian Rayan from Vasco da Gama. The forward’s contract is said to have a release clause of €100 million. Besides the signing of the young star, the Cherries have also brought goalkeeper Christos Mandas in on a loan deal from Lazio.

Juventus is also looking at potential players for their squad, and Everton’s striker Beto and PSG’s forward Randal Kolo Muani are among the candidates. At the same time, Atletico Madrid is planning to negotiate with Atalanta for the transfer of the Brazilian midfielder Ederson, who is a favorite player of Diego Simeone.

Chelsea and Aston Villa have also shown interest in Douglas Luiz’s case, while West Ham is apparently on the verge of selling Lucas Paqueta to Flamengo in a transfer worth more than €41 million.

Clubs are frantically trying to complete last-minute deals today, reflecting a hectic day at the trading ‍‌‍‍‌window.
