Rasmus Hojlund has declared that he was happy during his spell at Manchester United, although the press subjected him to widespread media criticism.
The Danish player made the move to United from Atalanta for a reported fee of £72 million in August 2023. Although he piled up the expectations, the forward suffered a lengthy period in front of goal, not finding the net, 26 goals in 95 matches in all competitions during his first two seasons at Old Trafford.
Later on, Hojlund was loaned to Napoli for the 2025- 26 season, where he has been playing really well, scoring 14 goals in 37 games since going back to Italy.

The 22-year-old, however, has now fought back against the United criticism, stating that the media misrepresented his time there.”I had a good time playing football in Manchester, ” Hojlund said to TV2 Sport. “The press made it look like everything was terrible, but that’s not how I look at it.”He pointed out that outside stories can be distant from the truth, highlighting the need to be second to none while under the microscope.
Hojlund is presently with Denmark, preparing for their FIFA World Cup play-off match against North Macedonia as they are striving to secure a spot at the tournament.
