Tiger Woods revealed to the police that he was distracted by his phone just before his car flipped over in the accident in Florida last week, as per a probable cause affidavit published on Tuesday.
According to the 15-time major champion, he was not paying attention as he was looking at his phone and changing the radio when he didn’t notice a truck braking in front of him. The event happened close to his Jupiter Island home, where the car he was driving was overturned on a two-lane road.

When police arrived, they found signs of intoxication and noted that Woods seemed tired, was sweating profusely, and had bloodshot, watery eyes with very large pupils. Besides, the document said that two hydrocodone tablets were discovered in the singer’s pocket, and Woods confessed that he had taken prescription medicine earlier that day.
The famous golfer, who has experienced several surgeries, specifically, 7 on his back and more than 20 on his leg, was seen by the officers as limping and unstable while performing the field sobriety tests. The deputy decided that Woods wasn’t able to safely operate a car because he was so impaired.
Tiger Woods was released after being taken into custody for DUI after posting bond. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
