Arsenal made it to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals once again, this time after a 0-0 deadlock versus Sporting CP that managed to keep their 1-0 aggregate triumph intact at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners needed a wake-up call after poor performances in the league and responded by initiating the game very well but eventually, their efforts to keep the momentum going almost completely faltered.

Sporting not only dominated the game but they were also very close to scoring several times as Francisco Trincão and Pedro Gonçalves missed their chances in the first half. Before the halftime whistle, Geny Catamo nearly scored after hitting the crossbar with David Raya unable to save the ball.
Mikel Arteta brought on Kai Havertz at the beginning of the second half in an attempt to gain control over the game, but still, Arsenal continued to lack in the final third. The last minute of the game, a header by Leandro Trossard thudded against the post.
Besides the fact that the performance was somewhat lackluster, a well-organized defense did the trick and the team advanced to the semis where they’ll meet Atletico Madrid.
Bayern Munich on the other hand rolled up their sleeves and did a fantastic job getting rid of Real Madrid with a single-match 4-3 result and a 6-4 aggregate win that happened at the Allianz Arena.
Within the very first minute of the game, Arda Güler exploited a blunder by Manuel Neuer to score for Real Madrid, nevertheless, Bayern wasted no time to equalize up by Aleksandar Pavlović, and went ahead on aggregate after Harry Kane scored for the host.
Real were back again and leveling the score as Kylian Mbappé finished a beautiful team move which Vinícius Júnior was the main figure of, however, things changed when Eduardo Camavinga got a red card which left Real Madrid with 10 players Bayern capitalize on the advantage and score two beautiful goals from Luis Díaz and Michael Olise.
The defeat in the Champions League quarter-finals marks the end of Madrid’s season, whereas Bayern continues a winless streak and awaits Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals showdown.
