A 53-year-old Nigerian national, Olatunde Olusanjo, has been arrested in Los Angeles by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over allegations linked to sexual offences.

Olusanjo was taken into custody on April 21, 2026, by officers of the agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) unit and is currently being held pending deportation proceedings.

In a statement shared by its Los Angeles office, ICE connected his arrest to previous criminal allegations, including child molestation, sexual battery, and solicitation of lewd conduct.

The agency described him as a “criminal alien and convicted sex offender,” stating:
“Los Angeles ERO arrested Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, 53, of Nigeria, on April 21.

“Olusanjo has previous arrests for child molestation, sexual battery and soliciting lewd conduct. He is in ICE custody pending removal.”

His arrest is part of ongoing enforcement actions by US authorities targeting foreign nationals with criminal records.

In recent years, several Nigerians have faced arrest and prosecution in the United States over offences ranging from cybercrime to violent and sexually related crimes.

Earlier in February, the US Department of Homeland Security disclosed that dozens of Nigerians were arrested as part of a crackdown on individuals described as high-risk offenders, with charges spanning fraud, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and other serious crimes.
