FC Barcelona has clarified that it distances itself from the comments relating to star attacker Lamine Yamal after the teen appeared to hold up a Palestinian flag during their La Liga title celebrations in Barcelona on Monday.
The teenager, who has been important to Barcelona’s league success, with 16 goals in 28 league games, scored the team’s 29th league title since their last win in 2019, when Barcelona clinched the title by beating Real Madrid 2-0. The vision of the teenager holding up the flag has caused a ripple effect in social media and political circles alike.
Barcelona has since clarified that this did not receive organisation from the club and that it was spontaneously placed in his hands; however, it did not reflect any official view from the club of this position.

An added sentence in the statement from Barcelona was apparently directed at Israeli supporters, where the statement went on to add that Barcelona represents fans of all kinds from all over the world.
This vision has now also stated that the video of this occasion will not be shared on the club’s media pages, and it has attracted the attention of the defence minister of Israel, who also pleaded with Barcelona to clear the player’s actions of any alleged political motive. However, the Catalan giants have declared their continued support for all their global fans, with supporters having a long relationship with the club from all over the world.
