Recently Donald Trump joined other global leaders at the G7 Summit, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Before the official group photographs were taken, the two leaders were seen engaging in conversation.
They were also seated next to each other during parts of the summit meetings.
Relations between Donald Trump and Keir Starmer have become increasingly strained in recent months. Trump had earlier criticised Starmer over differences surrounding the Iran conflict, and more recently took to Truth Social to claim that the British prime minister would step down, accusing him of having “failed badly” on major issues.

“Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. He failed badly on two very important subjects- IMMIGRATION AND ENERGY (OPEN NORTH SEA OIL!). I wish him well! President DJT” Trump wrote.
So far, the reaction online has been largely negative, with many people criticising Trump for publicly suggesting the resignation of the leader of a close US ally — and users have not held back in expressing their views in the comment section.
“Even by his standards, this is a ridiculous and insulting way for a President to treat the leader of one of America’s very closest allies.”
“I know we’re mostly inured to Donald Trump’s disregard for institutional norms and proprieties, but pre-announcing the resignation of the prime minister of America’s supposedly most important ally is pretty extreme, even by his standards. UK ministers are genuinely and understandably shocked.”
“Trump, isolated from every serious European leader, publicly announcing the UK Prime Minister’s resignation before Starmer himself has spoken? Disgraceful. Arrogant. Pathetic. Britain decides its own fate, not some bitter has-been tweeting from Florida. You are a national embarrassment to America and a threat to allied democracies. Stay in your lane. Useless man.”
