Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco Defender, Achraf Kakimi, after his rape charge case reached its criminal court stage by having the Court of Cassation support their decision.
Throughout the 2023 incident that resulted in a rape allegation, the 27-year-old never accepted it as true.
After the decision of the Versailles appeals court in June which was to send Hakimi to trial, he had the opportunity to challenge it, and his appeal to the highest French court was therefore his last hope and, in effect, the court’s decision has been confirmed as it is valid for trial.
Hakimi’s attorney, Fannya Kolin, emphasized that the accusations were not the topic of the Court of Cassation’s decision.
Colin said in a statement to AFP that “the Court of Cassation did not assess the factual allegations.”
She also said that the documents supporting the defense of Hakimi would be available during the public trial and that her client was cooperating with the authorities throughout the investigation.
The complainant claims that Hakimi, at his place of residence, had raped her when they initially made acquaintance through the Instagram platform.
Rachel-Flore, the accused client’s attorney, stated the decision was a reflection of the strength of the previous court’s reasoning, and in addition to that, her client remained to be committed to seeking justice.
PSG has repeated its statement that Hakimi is considered innocent until proven guilty and is maintaining his denial of any misconduct.
