Leeds United managed to get a point after trailing to a Manchester United goal on their home pitch at Elland Road as they equalised and drew 1-1. It marked their eighteenth unbeaten league game on home soil.
Manchester United’s moment came in the 35th minute when Bryan Mbeumo scored neatly after Youri Tielemans had found him with a pinpoint diagonal pass following a defensive mistake inside the penalty box.
Leeds’ Cameroon international Mbeumo had wasted another chance to take the lead, and he missed badly with a header from an equally good cross in the early part of the match as the two sides were unable to find control in the opening half that was marked with intensity.
Leeds then came back strongly after halftime and got the goal that took them level at 1-1 in the 51st minute. Calvert-Lewin reacted fast when the keeper deflected Muharemovic’s cross to him and made no mistake to bring their team back into the race for full points.

Leeds were now up, as evidenced by the two chances that Tanaka and Stach could not capitalise on, with the ball going just by the post at the end as their attempt to score a winner fell flat.
It took a while before United came close to winning it, with Bruno Fernandes missing his shot from the edge of the box when he was given time in the final third.
A change was made by United manager Michael Carrick in order to bring on Matheus Cunha, but the goal eluded both teams right up to when the referee blew the whistle.
The draw ensured that the Red Devils’ record in this particular fixture remained positive as they didn’t lose a single time in eight games at the home ground. It also kept their away campaign going without winning, as Carrick’s team had to face more challenges in the upcoming matches to maintain a good position in the Premier League table.
