Manchester United fought back twice from two goals down to grab a breathless 4-4 draw with Aston Villa and, despite that a 4-4 draw with Aston Villa, they languished in 18th place in the Premier League after just one win from 10 league games.
Villa burst out of the blocks at Old Trafford and scored twice inside the opening four minutes through Alysson.
The home side reduced the deficit from the penalty spot following a foul on Matheus Cunha by Boubacar Kamara, before Youri Tielemans scored in the 44th minute with a first-time finish from a Noussair Mazraoui cross.

But United’s aspirations of seizing the lead were short-lived. After Diogo Dalot felled Alysson, John McGinn put Villa ahead from the penalty spot. Then Leon Goretzka doubled the lead after Lenny Yoro’s header hit the bar.
United refused to give in, and substitute Joshua Zirkzee pulled one back in the 89th minute before Patrick Dorgu grabbed an equaliser in the dying seconds.
The result extended Villa’s unbeaten league streak to six games and marked the 200th Premier League appearance for Unai Emery.
The result brought a sluggish start for United to their new season. United failed to win and would stay at the bottom of the league table for the duration of the international break.
