Nigerian comedienne and actress, Princess, whose real name is Damilola Adekoya in a latest interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo has confessed that she received death threats for exposing the sex offender, Olanrewaju Omiyinka who is popularly known as Baba Ijesha.

Baba Ijesha was arrested and arraigned at the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court in April 2021 after he was caught in an illegal position with a minor on camera.

Princess, whose foster child was the victim in the Sexual assault case, noted that after she decided to take the case up, a bounty was laid on her life and she started receiving death threats.

Baba Ijesha was sentenced on Thursday,14 July, after facing six counts of child defilement that included indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration.

Justice Taiwo Oluwatoyin, the ruling judge in the case, found the defendant guilty of two of the six counts against him and sentenced him to 16 years imprisonment, adding that the sentence was to run concurrently for five years. Speaking in the video posted online late Thursday, the comedienne noted that she had previously regretted speaking out about the case.

When queried if she felt regret, Princess declined, saying: “Now, I don’t, but in the first two to three weeks, I did.”
