The Police Service Commission has applauded the performance of the police officers deployed at the 30 local governments in Osun for the gubernatorial election. The success of the Osun state elections is an indicator that the 2023 presidential election will be peaceful and successful.

Alhaji Musiliu Smith, chairman of the PSC, said the peaceful elections in Osun are an indicator that the general election will be getting better. Smith advised and encouraged the Nigerian Police to keep up the good work and that commission will continue to assist them to perform better.

He added that the police officers stationed at 30 local governments in Osun were monitored by the commission and weighed their performance as average. They reported to the electoral units on time, dressed correctly, and carried out their tasks professionally and systematically. They very quick to restore peace to any violence

“The polling stations were clear of weapons carried by security agencies as required by the law.

“Both armed military and special police units set up roadblocks and marched through the streets.

“PSC monitors statewide reported that most of the polling stations visited were free of major incidents of violence,” he added.

This is very commendable as election periods are known to be violent
