Mr. Tafa Balogun, the former inspector general of police who passed away on Thursday at the age of 74, Will be buried on Saturday. Alhaji Yekini, Balogun’s younger brother told some news respondents that the burial is to hold in Ila community in Osun state.

According to Lawal, they are still awaiting the arrival of relatives in Ibadan and Lagos and that there’s every possibility that the burial will hold on Saturday, as things are already being put in place for the burial in Ila.

“We are still expecting our family members living in Ibadan and Lagos. Most likely, his burial may take place on Saturday. We are already making arrangements for that in Ila.”

Chief Oye Oke who is the chairman of Ila-Oragun community Development council, has expressed his pain over the demise of Balogun, he said it will be difficult to fill the vacuum he left in the community. According to him, Balogun has been an incredible force and help to the community, he brought the police academy college into the community and helped several residents in the community into the police force. Balogun is said to be a very humble man

He said, “It is highly painful. We are all saddened, all Ila indigenes both at home and in the diaspora. It is a great loss to this community. Not for individuals alone, but for the entire community because he was a prominent indigene. He did well for us in this town. Most of those he took to the police are today in good offices.”
