The newly elected British Prime Minister, Liz Truss, had on Tuesday, appointed Nigeria-born Kemi Badenoch as the new Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade.
Truss, who had been a former Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, succeeded Boris Johnson as the new British prime minister on Monday, 5 September 2022.
The appointments had already been ratified by Queen Elizabeth ll and the new cabinet members’ appointments had been confirmed by the PM on Tuesday via her official Twitter page: @10DowningStreet.
The post had read: “Kemi Badenoch MP @KemiBadenoch has been appointed Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade @TradeGovUK #reshuffle.”
