Umar sadiq, Real Sociedad player has undergone the surgery on his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament today, and it was very successful.
Real Sociedad revealed this on their social media handle. According to them, the surgery was performed this morning and it went well, with no complications. Sadiq is to remain at the hospital, till Friday or Saturday depending on how fast he recovers.
Sadiq suffered a major injury in Real Sociedad’s match against Getafe, as he sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. This injury will see him miss the remaining part of the season, and Nigeria’s friendly game with Algeria, since he has to stay off the pitch for eight months.
“Sadiq underwent surgery this morning. The operation was successfully carried out with no issues. He will remain in the hospital until Friday or Saturday, depending on his evolution,”reads a tweet on the club’s verified Twitter handle.
Sadiq scored his debut goal for Real Sociedad in their 1-1 draw against Athletico Madrid, after recently just transferring to the club from Almeria.
