Ireland Promises to Aid Nigeria with Technology to Tackle Insecurity and Health Challenges

The Prime Minister of Ireland, Michael Martin, on Friday in New York, promised to assist Nigeria in deploying technology, to help overcome the challenges and adversities in the country’s health and security sector.

This is as President Muhammadu Buhari announced that with the renewed efforts of the Nigerian military, insecurity in Nigeria would soon become a thing of the past.

Speaking during an audience with the Irish Prime Minister, President Buhari remarked, “In the past few months, with new platforms and boosted morale among the security operatives, Nigeria is moving steadily in the path of overcoming its insecurity. We will continue to partner with nations across the globe especially in the usage of technology so that Nigeria can learn something valuable.”

Mr. Michael Martin had told Buhari that Ireland was looking for ways to increase the level of international relations with the country, even as Nigeria is currently Ireland’s largest trading partner in Africa. He expressed hope that his country would move into other areas like the deployment of technology, to aid Nigeria to overcome its challenges in health and security.

Martin further added that Europe and the world have been forced to look elsewhere for sources of energy as the war in Ukraine has shown.
