The 2022 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination results have just been released by the National Examinations Council -NECO. Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the NECO Registrar made the announcements today, Thursday, September 29, at the NECO Headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

According to Wushishi the examination council had blacklisted 29 supervisors for their suspected involvement in differing malpractice offenses. For at least two years, four schools had been recommended for de-recognition over constant malpractices. But for this year, 2022, there is a noticeable decline in malpractice in the internal senior school certificate examinations as compared to other years.

Wushishi had said;

“In the area of malpractices, a total number of 13, 595 persons were caught as compared to 20, 003 in 2021. This is an appreciable decline in the number of malpractice cases. Twenty-nine supervisors were, however, blacklisted for various offenses ranging from poor supervision, insult, aiding, and abetting during the exams.”

“A total number of 1, 209, 703 candidates registered for the exam, but 1, 198, 412 sat for the examination.”

“The number of candidates with special needs were numbering 1, 031; out of which 98 persons had albinism, 177 persons had autism, 574 persons had hearing impairments and 107 were visually impaired.”

“The number of candidates who scored five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics was 727, 864 representing 60.74 percent.”
