Paddy Kenny, ex-Bolton goalkeeper has stated that Aston Villa Might be considering sacking their manager, Steve Gerrard.
Kenny made this statement, due to Aston Villa’s goalless draw against Leeds United in the premier league game at Elland Road on Sunday. Gerrard’s men could not score any goal even though they played 10 men on the field after Luis Sinisterra was given a red card.
Paddy speaking about Villa’s current situation said that Aston Villa has only recorded two wins this season, and still yet they couldn’t register another win in their match against Leeds. Gerrard is definitely in a tight spot, as every coach will be bothered after losing two or three games.
He also said that Villa Fans have become impatient with Gerrad, as they are upset about the Club’s growth being redundant. Considering the amount they spent, this doesn’t look good. Probably Steve Gerrard needs more time to grow the team.
When asked about Gerrard’s situation at Aston Villa, Kenny told Football Insider, “Playing against a 10-man Leeds United side for 45 minutes, you would expect them to win. They have only won twice this season. There are a few teams in the same boat. There have been a lot of draws. Gerrard is going to be under pressure. If you do not win three or four games, you are under pressure as a manager, I do not care who you are.”
He added, “Villa fans have been after Gerrard for a while now. They are not happy. They do not look to have progressed since Dean Smith. Let’s not forget, they have spent money. It is a difficult league though, so I think he deserves more time.”
Aston Villa ranks 14th on the EPL table with 8 points after eight games.
