Police Operatives Raid Suspected IPOB Camps in Ebonyi.

Police operatives in Ebonyi State had on Saturday, October 22, raided three suspected camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra -IPOB, and its arm wing, Eastern Security Network -ESN, and arrested two alleged members in the process. 

The spokesman for the state police command, Chris Anyanwu, who confirmed the recent development at a news conference in Abakaliki on Sunday, October 23, announced that the camps had been situated in a thick forest close to Opeke River, in Omege village, Ishielu local government area in Ebonyi.

According to Anyanwu, the command’s tactical team which had carried out the operation had recovered assorted arms and ammunition, military uniforms, and several incriminating items from the camps.

“The operation was headed by the Command’s Tactical teams, with the help of the military and Department of State Services -DSS, in the state.” Anyanwu had said.
