Cholera has Killed 466 Persons in Nigeria In 2022 –NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has revealed that out of a total of 19,228 suspected cases of cholera, 466 deaths had been confirmed, so far in 2022.

Also, according to the recent weekly epidemiological report for cholera, which was posted on the official NCDC website on Friday, 31 states in the country have reported suspected cholera cases this year.

The report in part had read: 

“Thirty-one states have reported suspected cholera cases in 2022. These states include Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ekiti, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara.

Seven states had reported 5304 suspected cases in the reporting month, including Borno with 4920 cases, Yobe with 191 cases, Gombe with 93 cases, Sokoto with 81 cases, Taraba with 11 cases, Bauchi with 6 cases, and Adamawa State.
