There has been so much controversy over Portugal’s first goal, after Portugal’s win against Uruguay. The Portuguese FA wants FIFA to award Portugal’s first goal to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo who thought he had registered his second goal in the 2022 world cup jumped up high to celebrate it, however, it was said that Ronaldo didn’t touch the ball, so the goal was automatically awarded to Fernandes who made the pass.
According to FIFA, after all, necessary consultation using the connected Ball Technology, the goal belongs to Fernandes, as it shows that Ronaldo had no contact with the ball
They have asked the Portuguese FA to present a piece of evidence to show that Portugal’s first goal Against Uruguay was scored by Christiano Ronaldo and not Fernandes
FIFA, however, thought otherwise and gave the goal to Fernandes with football’s world governing body writing: “In the match between Portugal and Uruguay, using the Connected Ball Technology housed in Adidas’s Al Rihla Official Match Ball, we can definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game.
“No external force on the ball could be measured as shown by the lack of ‘heartbeat’ in our measurements. The 500Hz IMU sensor inside the ball allows us to be highly accurate in our analysis.”
“Nevertheless, according to @elchiringuitotv: “The Portuguese Federation is going to present evidence to FIFA to prove that the first goal against Uruguay was Cristiano Ronaldo’s and not Bruno Fernandes’.”
