A lot of people have allegedly sustained serious injuries when hoodlums reported being sponsored by the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, attacked the Labour Party’s rally in the Lakowe town area of Lekki, Lagos State.
The incident led to panic in the area as people were seen running for their lives, to safety.
According to a victim who was at the scene when the attack was carried out, some suspected political thugs who were allegedly sponsored by the All Progressives Congress, APC had arrived in the area to cause trouble.
In his narration, the eyewitness had told The Independent newspapers: “We were marching close to Lakowe junction when all of a sudden, a bus full of political thugs with all sorts of weapons stopped in front of us and then attacked us for no reason, almost like they were waiting for us.”
Recall that back in October 2022, armed hoodlums reportedly sponsored by the ruling APC had vandalized the billboards and attacked supporters of the Labour Party’s House of Representatives candidate in Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, Chief Peter Ojonugwa.
