THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced that registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, will open on January 14, 2023.
The board further stated that registration for its Direct Entry, DE for the 2023 session will take place between February 20 and April 20, 2023.
The choices were made yesterday, according to the body’s spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, at the end of JAMB’s management meeting.
He stated that the Board has approved the start of registration for the 2023 UTME from January 14 to February 14, 2023. However, this does not include registration for Direct Entry application paperwork, as DE registration would begin from February 20 to April 20, 2023.
He added that candidates are to note that they would be required to pay the sum of N1,000 service charge for CBT centers for the conduct of mock examination at the point of registration, to avoid a situation where candidates would indicate their interest to sit the mock-UTME, leading the various centers to commit human and material resources, only to stay away on the day of the examination.
With the new structure, candidates would signal their interest by paying for the mock at the stage of UTME registration, hence, precluding the centers from suffering any loss whether candidates turn up or not.
In addition, after considering its other commitments, the Board set April 29, 2023, as the date for the 2023 UTME, which is scheduled to end on May 12, 2023.
The board recommends all candidates who wish to register for the 2023 UTME immediately begin creating their respective profiles (creation of profile code) before the formal start of the registration activity to prevent being trapped in any ensuing congestion.
