Buhari Assures Bolanle Raheem’s Family, NBA of Justice.
Social media went frenzy since Christmas day over the death of Bolanle Raheem, caused by a police officer. The president of Nigeria, President Buhari has ordered the Nigerian police force to ensure that the Policemen involved in the death of Barrister Bolanle Raheem face the full wrath of the Law.
The President has also assured the family of the deceased and the Nigerian bar association that justice will take its full course in the case
“I assure you that justice will be done in this case,” the President said in a statement signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, titled ‘President Buhari condemns killing of Omobolanle Raheem, says justice must be done.’
The 41 years old Nigerian lawyer who was seven months pregnant, was shot by a police officer on Christmas day while trying to make a U-turn in the Ajah axis on their way back from an eatery, she died in the hospital.
President Buhari described the killing as “heinous and senseless,” and revealed that he was saddened by the news, he also said that is a wake-up call to the Nigerian police force that police officers should be trained on what their duties are, and the proper way to handle weapons given to them.
Just barely two years after the “end Sars” saga Nigerians are beginning to see the reason for the whole protest, the Nigerian police force is filled with corrupt individuals, some of who do not know what being in the force means. Reform must be carried out, as this is a big embarrassment to the entire police force.
