The kidnapped sole Administrator of the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Chris Ohizu, has been killed by beheading by unknown gun-wielding individuals.
The council boss was murdered on Sunday, January 22 after his abductors reportedly received 6 million Naira as ransom.
A gruesome video of Ohizu’s beheading surfaced online on Sunday, with his killers announcing that the scheduled elections in Nigeria would not be held.
A source from the LGA, who wished to be anonymous, revealed that the killers of the sole administrator published videos of the beheading with the phone of their victim through Ohizu’s WhatsApp status.
The source had said: “He was tied and half naked before he was killed. It is a painful way to die. They butchered him after collecting his N6 million ransom.”
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the police in Imo state, Henry Okoye, has confirmed the incident and simply said “investigation is ongoing.”
The murdered sole administrator had been abducted on Friday by gunmen together with two others after burning his country home at Imoko community in the Arondizuogu area of the LGA.
He had been shot before he was taken away by his abductors.
