Imo state has been the center of several dastardly acts, as INEC offices in the state have been attacked, and several courts have been burnt down.

Reports have it that a High Court in Oguta, Oguta LGA was set on fire by some unknown gunmen on Saturday night. It is reported that the Gunmen invaded the building around 11:30 pm and set it on fire.

A source revealed that several important documents and offices were burnt and the whole building cracked as a result of the fire and would collapse.

The source said, “The Magistrate Court Registry, Appeal Court Record Office, File Room, Secretary to the High Court Judge’s office, and office of the High Court Bailiff were burnt while the chamber of High Court Judge was partly razed. The whole of the block has cracked and no reasonable human being will ever go near the facility.

Ofili Ijeoma, the sole Administrator of the Oguta LGA, revealed that necessary reports have been made to the relevant Security agencies and that some arrests would soon be made.

This new habit of gunmen in the Imo state is very disturbing, the court is a house of justice that should not be attacked, and there have been several threats in the lives of judges in the state, how will effective judgment be given if judges’ lives are in danger?
