Important Details As Regards The February 25th Presidential Elections.

It’s the day of the Presidential Elections, here are some important details that every voter should know.

Who Is Qualified to Vote?

Every Nigeria who has attained the age of 18, with a Parmanent Voters Card, And who appears in person on the election day as every voter will be authenticated using the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS), so there can be no voting in absence.

Where Can I Vote And  Do I Locate My Polling Unit?

Every eligible voter will vote in the polling unit where your name is enlisted in the list of Registered voters. 

Every potential voter has been adviced to locate their polling units and you can locate your polling unit by following these steps.

1. Click on the INEC website, and then proceed to voters.inecnigeria.org or cvr.inecnigeria.org.

2. An online form will be displayed, which you’ll use to locate your Polling Unit and voters status.

3.There’s a green link, which will help you find directions to your polling unit.

4. Use the map or the directions of your phone to find your polling unit.

It is however advisable to go to your polling unit a day before the elections to confirm, your polling unit should be that far from where you stay, at least it should be within your street.

Accreditation and Voting Proper.

According to the INEC 2023 election procedures, Accreditation starts by 8:30am and closes by 2:30pm on the Election day, the last person in the queue by 2:30pm will be allowed to vote. It is adviceable to go your polling unit before 8:30am.

It should be noted that BVAS will be used to identify if you are the actual owner of the PVC in your possession, if the BVAS identifies you as the owner of the PVC, it’ll verify and accredut you, if it does not, then you’ll not be allowed to vote.

You’ll go to the voting cubicle, and then secretly tick your choice on the ballot paper, ensure that you don’t smear other parts of the paper in order for your vote not to he rejected, you’ll then fold the paper and drop it in the ballot box.

You are allowed to remain 300meters away from the polling unit, after casting your vote, if you wish to witness the sorting, counting and announcement of results, so long you are well behaved and do not cause trouble.

It is your right to vote, vote without causing trouble, come out to vote on February 25th, do not be political apathetic.
