On Wednesday, February 22, gunmen alleged to be cult members attacked the campaign convoy of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Oforchukwu Egbo.
According to anonymous sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of the State. The gunmen had killed the driver of one of the buses in the convoy and had had his body, burnt together with the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, had yet to confirm the attack at the time of filing this report.
