An Ikeja Magistrate court on Thursday remanded a 50-year-old cleric who goes by the name Lawrence Omoniyi, in Kirikiri Correctional center in Ikeja for Allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of a teenage girl who is still a minor according to Nigerian law.
According to the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem the act was committed around 2020 and December 2022 at the defendant’s house where the victim also resides, he raped her and then threatened her not to reveal the act, the girl later revealed the situation to two of her friends.
The case has been adjourned to April 18, by Mrs. Bola Osunsami, who is the Presiding judge of the case.
