What posed as an opportunity for Barcelona to be 14 points ahead of Real Madrid in the La Liga table, was discarded by Barcelona, as they lost to Rayo Vallecano in Wednesday’s La Liga.

Barca’s performance was far from okay, as Rayo stood out as the better team.

Speaking about their performance, Xavi Hernandez has said that he was not impressed with the team’s performance, and there’s no excuse for their poor performance.

He further said that they didn’t give their all to the game, and both himself and the players are annoyed, seeing how they blew the opportunity to establish a very strong lead in La Liga.

He further admitted that Rayo was the better team, and they’ll have to give Rayo the credit.

“There are no excuses, we have to think about Saturday and get back to the good form we showed against Atletico,” he said.

“We didn’t play at the level the match required, today I’m angry and the players leave angry too.

“We are very upset because today we had a very good opportunity to go out with a bigger lead.”

: “Rayo deserved the win and we have to congratulate them.”

Barcelona are to play Real Betis next, as they look forward to clinching the La Liga title this season
